Surprisingly many web design companies do not know any web code at all. They just install a content management system like WordPress and then and use a ready made template known as a theme. CMS(Content Management) systems allow a non-coder to build and manage a website. They will also use photos and images found on the web.

Whitehat SEO
Whitehat SEO is the method of search engine optimization that is natural and produces natural rankings. Whitehat SEO is a method of following the rules and terms of Google and other search engines. Produce good content on your website and other webmasters with backlink to your website to increase your sites popularity which helps as a major ranking factor. Whitehat SEO methods are slow but in the long haul using these methods are more rewarding. Google wants to reward webmasters that work hard and spend time creating a website that is useful for site visitors.
Blackhat SEO
Blackhat SEO consist of methods that produce fast artificial results. These methods can cause great penalties like having your website banned deindexed from search engines. I have done all three methods of SEO for many years. Blackhat SEO used to work phenomenally well in the good old days. I have had multiple domains penalized and a few de indexed by Google. I have received Emails from Matt Cutts the head guy of the Google spam team. Some blackhat methods still work but you have to be smart and careful. Most blackhat SEO methods that still work really fall into the greyhat category.
Greyhat SEO
Greyhat search engine optimization methods are borderline blackhat methods. The term “Greyhat” is less heard of and this term is not known or used by many webmasters. Greyhat SEO methods are a mix of whitehat SEO used with a small amount of blackhat methods sprinkled on top. Greyhat SEO methods are perhaps the most effective search engine optimization techniques used. These methods can only be used on a level of caution and awareness.
Search Engine Optimization Overview
There is paid advertising that provides great exposer and there is organic search engine optimization. SEO mainly pertains to organic listings. Organic SEO positions are free but very hard to obtain for competitive keywords. Search engine optimization, search engine marketing, building backlinks and branding has its own rules of science. The true meaning of SEO is to use certain methods both on-page and off-page to persuade or manipulate search engine bots to rank higher. First page top rankings on Google, Yahoo and Bing are ideal for traffic.
What I have found is that 90% of the information that you find on the web about SEO is total crap. The only way to know what works and what doesn’t is to implement years of experimentation. You may get frustrated and get penalized along the way. I encourage anyone that is interested to learn the truth about SEO. The problem with whitehat SEO is that it can take years to produce results. It’s like climbing a big mountain while fighting off others trying to do the same thing.
Video Marketing
I have years of experience creating, producing and editing videos for the web. Video marketing is very important for any business. People love to watch videos more than reading content or looking at photos. Search engine optimization for videos is also much easier. There are services online that do nothing but video marketing. Why? Because it’s very easy. Videos draw people in like a magnet especially if you’re brave enough to be personable and actually be in your videos.
Social Media Marketing
Social media is growing at an unbelievable scale. It’s a great way to reach people and get your message out. I believe for posts to be shared you cannot be too serious. You create funny or interesting images or videos that people want to share. Who knows one of your posts could go viral. I once shared a video that was not mine however it has around 50-60,000 views right now.
Experience
I have over six years of experience with web design and SEO. I used to manage over twenty plus WordPress sites however a few months ago they were hacked and my hosting provider shut them down. The domains are more useful as 301 redirects for SEO anyway. After you 301 forward one domain to another it takes three weeks for the backlinks to pass on and get results.
I am dedicated to contribute to the web and make my footprint. I have been thinking about starting a GitHub project but I need to find the right idea first. I have been involved with many projects from Imacros scripts, Ubot, databases, different SEO software, creating scripts or coding and web design. I do get stuck on things sometime but I research until I find a solution.
I am very interested in the tech industry. I want to increase my skills as a web developer and as a programmer.
